Good Day to All,
I have a 93 Jeep YJ currently with 225's.
Can I fit 31"x 10.5 x r15 on my truck without having to buy a lift? They are bf goodrich mud terrains. the rims are 5 bolt standard steel rims and he says they fit on his old TJ and YJ, but I have never met this guy. We meet tomorrow.
I have spoken to many people and I am hearing different advice.
I am not looking to off road hard at all. Just the rare up and down, nothing too articulate.
Will it rub the arm or the fender?
I am going to attempt to put them on tomorrow and test this. I am planning on buying these 4 beauty tires used. (they'are like new)
My plan is too lift it and change the two front tires with these 31" drop it down and turn the wheel all the way on both sides to see if the touch the arm of fender.
Question for you all since I am not very good with all this: Am I on the right track or is they're something you can tell me that I need to know

If I have to get a lift, I will, but I am trying to avoid lifting the vehicle.

If I remember correctly, 31's will rub on stock YJ setup. However, if you aren't planning on wheeling it much the rubbing that will ensue may not be a factor for you. Check for interference on the springs as well. Best way to check is to cross it up by raising opposing corners of the vehicle if you can do so SAFELY! Just turniong the wheels when the jeep is sitting level won't check all of the variables.
Have fun - you'll be back when the bug hits and you decide to wheel the bejeepers put of it ;0)
