Hello everyone. I'm in Victoria for the month of March.Ive done most of my off roading around Courtenay and Squamish area. I'm looking to get out and explore the south Island. I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, bone stock. Ive added a few dents here and there. Also have made good use of all the skid plate protection. It was a great summer last year!! Having one year of off roading under my belt feels good. I don't feel like a complete newbie. Saying that, I still scare the hell out of myself now and then. Looking at some of he pics on here I have to say I may need a few mods to keep up with the majority of you. Can anyone suggest any moderate trails? Its been 5 months and I'm going into off road withdrawal! I was thinking about the Harrison trail up to Empress Mt. , Crabapple lk. and Sooke Mt. prov park. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Answered my own question about Harrison trail. Drove up there today. No dice. from Hwy. 14 or Sooke potholes road. The attendant at the Shell station suggested access to some off-roading up around China beach.? hmm Was thinking about the old Port Renfrew Rd. Anyone been up that route lately?

Don't worry about your Rubi being able to keep up - it'll do jusssssst fine for 90% of what we do. Besides, our monthly runs cater to the "least" equipped vehicle so nobody comes home with more damage than they volunteer for ;0) Come on out to a meeting and find out when where our runs are going and of course to say hey and enjoy a meal with the gang.

Thanks Rob. I'm guessing you just do the one meeting per month? Looks like I just missed your last one. DOH!! I did a trip up to Port Renfrew last weekend. Found a few nice trails here and there. Also checked out the "Worlds Biggest" Douglas fir tree. Well worth the trip. I tried to make it up the Red creek trail. The Bridge is gone! You might be able to make it through if you were a little crazy. hehe I backtracked and came around the back way through the Harris creek main. I'm thinking about trying to explore around Shawnigan lake on the Old Port Renfrew road.

I am interested in back road challenging drives not real extreme wall climbing, but it is nice to watch.

Hey rceme, I would be interested if it was a close trip. I blew the fuel budget on my Port Renfrew trip. LOL
Might try around Shawnigan Lake? Any ideas?
