I have a neighbor who is considering selling me his willy's cj... It's got some rust and the seats are broken on the insides so they lean funny; the motor isn't original, it's been replaced with a 1965 Chevy 153cid 4 cylinder (rebuilt 150 miles ago, with corvette pistons) and comes with a second motor (also a 153cid Chevy 4 cylinder.) It's got the stock transmission (t-90 I think) and stock transfer case (no clue what that is) with full floating axles front and rear (not sure of the axle though.)
He's asking me for 3000$ for the whole package... my question is... should I take it and run or is this too much and should I haggle?
Time is not a great issue, he's not actively trying to sell, but I want information before I make any commitments.
Thanks for the advice in advance!

I would suggest haggle for sure ... old Jeeps and tin in general are alot of work ,,,special one u already know needs TLC ... My last old one had sat for years ,,, soo soo many unseen issues ,,(dash wiring ,,,tank units ,,,heater motors ,,and since all are OLD makes either $$$ or hard to find ,,or Both
but if its yr passion to have old willys ,,, then go for it

Thanks Slim, I'll take that under advisement. It'd be my first jeep (My 4x4 back in the states was a '79 chevy short/flat bed) and I really want it so I'll see if he's flexible and if not, we'll see what happens. Now that I know you've had an old one, I may be pestering you/the forum here for advice. Thanks again!
