There isn't something binding hard that only does it with weight on wheels is there? Guess the only way to figure that out would be on a hoist?

I don't know Slim - I am moving 46-inch tires with a Gear Centre super pump in the front and a Chevy 1 ton pump for the rear steer. Something else is up. Have you checked to see that the pulley you are using isn't fu-bared and spinning on the pump shaft? Also what fitting are you using on the back of the pump? Flow is dictated by the size of the orifice in the pressure fitting. West Texas says to bore it out to 5/16. I did this too in the Jeep but: However on my Chevy truck with the hydro boost system you have to use the fitting that comes with the truck. I tried to use a bigger one and it just screamed and foamed as well. I forgot which one was the stock one and went through three before it stopped making noise.

I have checked the pulley yes ,, all is good there ,, I am using the stock 5/16 fittin for the FSJ ,, they use a 3/8 id hydraulic pressure and return hose is 3/8 all the way ,,from box to cooler and to pump,..
I talked yesterday to PSC motorsports ,,they recommended a new preformance box over increasin pump pressure or performance,, sounded a lil odd to Me ,, I called cause Im thinkin of goin to a PSC perfromance pump and remote resevr,, says does 3.5 gpm ...
u know I looked and looked and saw nothing on pumps online ,,like maybe an FSJ pump less pressure or GPM then a Chev ,, maybe Chev one ton ,,in the late 80's has better spec,. ect ..
funny cause u can find junk yard tips on all parts its seems , but not the best stock Saggy pump for a cheap easy upgrade ....HINT HINT at an upcoming article maybe ,,,,lol ...
why didnt u AL run the FSJ pump with the 401 ? or did u try it and it not cut it?
maybe just say heck with it ,,install the ram and see if it helps...lol
