There will be No BBQ at the snow run. You will have to bring your own lunch and hot choc etc.

I'll be there - if we're heading up Brenton, most of the trees will likely be cleared already - the snowmobilers have been up there lots, so they'll have cut the majority of the windfalls. I'll chuck my little saw in anyways. I'll bring a swede saw for you, Glenn.

There was Chet, Rob, Ian, Dennis and myself.
There is lots of snow up Mt. Benton, we made it most of the way to the lake, but turned before we got there around because we were breaking through the slick surface and digging holes. Slow going - lots of tugs needed.. All the windfall is cut - so no problem there. Lots of snowmobiles. We managed to pack down the trail most of the way there, so it should be easier going - if we go next Sunday.

It looks like we'll be going to Brenton next Sunday but we need to confirm this still. There was not much snow to speak of on the other mountains we looked at. I would say a rear locker and large tires would be a minimum for the run. It was deeeeep. Ian

Here's my dilemma..
What wheel/tire combo should I run next weekend in the snow?
I have 2 options.
1. Run the 35X12.50-16.5 BFG All-Terrains on 9.75X16.5 rims. If I do this I cannot air them down much at all without having to worry about peeling a tire off of those under-engineered 16.5" rims.
2. Run my 38X12.50-16.5 TSL SX's on my newly finished (or almost) H1 double beadlock rims, which would allow me to air the tires down to nothing and still not have to worry about losing a bead, but I was thinking that the big, deep lugs on the Swampers would be worse for snow traction than the A/T's.
I'm thinking that my BFG A/T's will be better than my Swampers...
What do you think?
Remember, I will probably be one of the biggest and heaviest trucks along for the ride. I would much rather be the guy on the laughing end of the strap than the crying end! ;D
I don't want to have my heavy pig keeping all of the more capable rigs from having their fun in the snow. Now if it was a mud run that would be different...

Broke the Jeep... engine went knock knock knock. Still coming down but guess that means I am looking for a passenger seat. Al

Run the biggest tires you have. Way to go Al I was looking forward to riding in the jeep / I was going tell you to bring the sleds to but you wreck them too way to go.

After yesterday I would say bring the tires that will give you the most flotation on the snow. The swampers aired way down would probably be best.
Al I'm sure we can find you a seat somewhere. Three of the five vehicles yesterday had no passengers.
