Hey ..seems like my next project means I will be in the market to buy a sawzall ..I see alot are avail . and at all different prices ..
in todays flyer from Home-depot they have a DeWalt H/D on sale for $79.00 ..it has a 7.5amp motor ,,,
Now the question is what do u look for when u buy one? the amps? what minimum should I get,, ? do u still with brand name or are the ones at like Wl-mart.Crappy tire. or Princess Auto ok,, for at home ocational use,?

Hi Slim we use a millwalkkey at work. We beat the hell out of it still work's good after 2 year's it's the heavy duty one sorry for the spelling.

from what I have been told the amps are what make or or break it.So if you are looking to just use it for a cut or two a lower amp model will do fine if you want a heavy daily user, go for a bigger motor on it (ie) higher amp draw.I would think that with a bigger motor there is bigger parts in the rest of the tool that will beable to take the load you put on it. ???My two cents

a 7.5 amp motor draws 7.5 X 120 volts = 900 watts. 1 hp = 746 watts so 900/746 = 1.2 hp. That should be plenty of power.

make sure it has the tooless blade change thingy. Mines an older cheapo and you have to hunt for the allen key everytime you need to change a blade!

thanks for the info guys ,,,,,I think I will start and see how a 7.5 amp one does ,,,,O can always return it ,,if I dont like it ,,,,,Right ,,lol

I'm with chet on the tool less blade change. I've used almost every brand and dewalt or porter cable are some of the ones i prefer.
