Just got a call from Shawn Grey from Search and rescue and they are looking for assistance for the Mt. Sicker area... I no longer have any contact info for you peeps, in the club, but I told them I would track some down and pass it on ( as im no longer on the Isle)

i just got off the phone with the guy
and he said that a guy called in and that he said his buddy got crushed by something late last nite and before he could track it the cell went dead
they localized it to the back of mt sicker

I just called the Search and Rescue guys - they have a bus set up at the end of Mt. Sicker Road from which they are coordinating this search effort. If you plan to help, please go via Mt. Sicker Road and check in at the bus. It's 3:30 pm as I type this, and I'm sure they'd appreciate any help they can get.

we searched until around 8:30 last night. Nothing! They are back on the mountain today to see if they find anything. This is what the radio said. I smell prank but you never know!

thats what the rcmp said last nite when he briefed me but it got to the point where they said just go up there and meander around the trails and see what you can find ;D

I was kinda wondering that, if my budy was pinned under some thing and I could not get out by phone. I think I would have to take the chance that he might not make it and go for help. At least he might have a chance if I was able to get back with help.

4:00 p.m. Thursday - just got back from search and rescue. It has been called off. No real details as to why except cell phone call was traced to the other side of the highway and police had been looking for a "person of interest" ... take what you can from that. I'm sure there will be stuff on the news soon.

Thanks for all the updates everybody. The last thing I heard last night before I split from the co-ordination bus was that the call seemed to originate within a couple kms of the cell tower by Fuller Lake arena, so that's apparently the focus - as BigBer says, take what you want from that - I'll also be watching the news tonight for more info.....

Search and Rescue (Mike) said to pass on a big thank you to those of us who made it out to help in the search. They were very grateful for our knowledge of the area trails and said they would definitely contact four wheelers in the future. Also thanked us for beating on our vehicles!!! Sad to see some of the old trails gone or changed beyond repair. Bitch is still fine but Ass over Tea Kettle hasn't been driven for a long while, needs work but the logging is awfully close so might not survive
