I'm happy to be the voice of the 4WDABC here on Vancouver Island. Right now our local club, of which I'm President of is going through some changes, and is taking up a lot of my time. Of note for the wheelers, we're adding "off-road" to the list of our pursuits, so look forward to some more fine events!
A bit about me. I've lived, worked, loved and played for most of my life on the Island. I've been off roading for over thirty years! I've done The Hole in the Rock trail, 4X4'd Mosquito Pass, the highest drivable pass in the Rockies. Been to Moab many times, I've 4X4'd all over the PNW and as far away as New Mexico and Texas! I've traveled throughout BC on awesome back roads as well as up to the Yukon & Alaska.
SAR trained, Emergency Comms trained, (as well as HAM), 1st aid certified. Lots over overhead Team management experience, along with media liaison work, volunteering. Twenty five years of off-road & on-road motorsports experience, in the pit, organizing AND behind the wheel! My highlight would have been rallying Internationally in Australia.
I'd like to do a meet-and-greet, for the 4X4 crews on the island at a local watering hole in August. Probably in the Cowichan area, and I wanted to put out the feeler here. I'd love to meet some of the gang and introduce myself! Let me know here what you think.
Cheers, Glyn
