Looks like good potential there - I'd likely take a week - couple days to it, 3 days wheelin, couple days at relatives and couple days home just to make it nice and easy instead of being a marathon - I would be driving the heep after all ;0) Looks like they've got it dialled in, what with the bbq's and camping etc all setup, plus cabins for those who want em. Early fall I think to avoid all the frikkin mud pits - I'm 'llergic to mud With hosting bike rally, wedding, big anniversary etc next year I'd likely have to wait until '13 though - and I'd still like to plan a moab trip for 13 ;0)

Just a FYI, I've been to Lee's several times and plan on going again this summer for his tough trail challenge third week of August. Last year there were 80 vehicles entered his most ever. If I get my stuff together I plan on competing in the smaller tire class. There isn't really three days wheeling there more like one big day - and its mostly mud holes and twisty stuff he makes with his back hoe - fun for sure but just be aware. For a three day trip up there I'd suggest one day in Brule Lake sand dunes in's off highway 16 just east of Jasper park, Hinton would be the staging area.

I was just talking with a club in Edmonton who are setting up a weekend run on the same weekend as the Comp at Lees which is the third weekend of August. After Lee's comp I'm heading for Hinton for the Brule dunes and a trail run in the mountains around Hinton. Should be a good one.
Rob, join us for the Safari next year! Wade is coming from Calgary as well and I think I'll be taking the Bronco next year so it will be all easier stuff - well easy to me anyway...

Safari but we will actually get to trails this time not pound rum in a cabin in the middle of the woods with a bunch of turkeys. This year on almost every run we did we almost had the trails to ourselves so its not as busy as everyone says it is....
Trail Tour is in South Dakota in about 2 weeks but I'm not going this year - the first one I've missed. Pam, Steph and I are headed for Nashville and Washington DC for a family trip at the end of the month and there was no way I could be gone for a full month in the summer.
