Well another epic trip to Moab in the books. It started with a crash in a construction zone in Oliver where I crushed a small car and damaged my truck. Day two, blown tire on the trailer in Salt Lake City that took out part of the floor of my new enclosed trailer. All this before even wheeling. Came home with 4 new tires.
Monday a small group of us headed out on Gold Bar Rim and through Golden Spike an awesome day with a couple wrong turns that ended in amazing views and drives over solid sand stone.
Day two was a trip on Metal Masher with 10 Canadian rigs from as far away as eastern Ontario. We did every optional route and Rock Chucker had me up on two wheels before settling back down and I managed to climb it un-aided. We ended the day on Widow Maker where we all winched.
Day three I helped Todd of Aqualu set up for the trade show and we did a night run up Moab Rim. Amazing night run with great weather. All but 1 of the Canadian rigs came out for the run and they rode along with others.
Thursday/Friday was the trade show and despite 45 mile an hour winds on the first day it was a great show and very busy.
Saturday we went to Area BFE for the JK experience running upper Helldorado which we missed part of due to having to change condo units. After lunch we drove the truck up to Potato Salad hill for the annual Saturday gong show. Had to have been 1500 people watching at any point all afternoon.
Sunday was a down day due to rain. We were going to run Pritchet Canyon but I wasn't interested in doing it wet as that canyon regularly floods. So we headed for a tour of Arches National Park - amazing place. Monday/Tuesday an uneventful ride home.
A few picks of the week:
Rock Chucker:
Golden Crack:
Wrong turns are good wrong turns in Moab:
Ledges on Gold Bar Rim:
Amazing where 33s, lockers and a 4 Speed Atlas can take you. Bruce is 59 and this was the first time he trailered his rig and he tried everything making most.
Top of Gold Bar. La Sal mountains in the back ground 1300 foot drop in front of the Jeep:
Ledges on Metal Masher:
Widow Maker - I'm too short to make this so I winched:
Night run:
