I noticed there is a calendar attached the board(haven't figured it out yet though)
once things get busier we can split it up into different sections.
Also I can leave the complete thing open to the public or close it off so its only members? or a combination so there is a general area for everyone and a section just for club members?
Also I would like to make a section just for club members where we can post the minutes of the meetings if possible? not sure if they ever get typed out though.
any other suggestions?

I think the members only section is probably a must have. The minutes area would be great (in the mebers area also?) for those who can't or seldom make the meetings - I know, I know  Hopefully we won't end up with the hacker problems or pissing contests that some sites have had. hehe carnage section is a good one!
All of the others are good to. I was thinkin as things get busier I can split things up. Leaving them grouped into one or two forums seems logical until we know how busy it will get.

I was on Own web page www.irc4x4.com this morning and think that we should put an update on there with a link to the board here ,, that way people can take a peek ,,and even ask us questions about who were are ,,ect,, |

A IRC event/trail invitation section where only IRC members can post events/trails invitation and where we can post reply to.

If there is an IRC event only (for IRC members), it will be posted in the members area - for Club members. If there is an open invitation - like our monthly Sunday runs for example, it will be posted in the General area.  Hope that helps with where to find run/activity information. Again nice to see new faces ;D |

All good ideas Stephane. We'll have to see how things go though as this is brand new and building / maintaining / affording the bandwidth that large bulletin boards can eat will take some time and effort. We's just new at this and there may be some growing pains I'm sure that the webmaster will agree on the time constraints Rob |

I think we should make this a members only board. Leaving it open will eventually lead to the problems typical of open participation boards, where people start communicating using their Internet personas, which generally ends up in some kind of pissing match.
It's better, imo, to keep the interaction here based on having real-world connections (ie: belonging to the club and having met at least some club members).
I'd also like to take this time to apologize for not visiting anyone on the island this past year or more. I've been extremely busy around the house as well as dealing with our first child. On top of that, the stupid transmission on my Jeep is still hosed.
Oh, and thanks for setting up this board.

Larry you have access to the members only section. If things do get out of hand well I will go totally members only but for now we will leave it be.
