Off to Burnaby in the Pinz to ATEB automotive Saturday to swap the Pinz for a 1989 BJ74 Toyota Land cruiser (3.5 turbo diesel) - with new lift (Old Man Emu), new exhaust system, new windshield, new 15X8 ProComp wheels and new tires (33X12.5X15 R) Truxus. Comes with ARB lockers to be installed latter.
Should be interesting ......

Cool Truck! I really like the Old Man Emu suspension---I bet it will ride like a car--we need to take it out for a run.
congrats!

Arrived at ATEB at 9:30 am in Burnaby and met Oliver (operations Manager) a swiss guy who works for Marko of Outback. He is the guy that got them interested in selling Pinzgauers -- mostly the 6X6's for the Yukon for mining, etc.
ATEB is the garage, owned by Toyota diesel mechanics who have been trained in Asia who prep the Landcrusers and other JDM trucks (Hiaces (4X4 vans), Pathfinders, Hilux) and cars for Outback. I was very impressed on the prep - unbelievable, 2 new 800 CCAs Opitmas, all fluids changed out (top quality synethics), electric battery blanket, coolant flush, new coolant, injectors rebuilt, all new belts and filters, new brakes front, new complete exhaust system, new windshield, first aid, kit, flashlight, 4 liters oil, fuel additive, new Old Man Emu lift kit, greaseable shackles, new shocks, new steering stabilizer, wipers, full tank of diesel, new tires, new wheels AND they painted the truck because they had some problems removing the decals on the side. I paid for the rubber and wheels at their cost (no PST since based in the Yukon). These guys are top notch.
The engine is a dream -- tons of torque. With the 4.11s, the 33s didn't steal much acceleration. The only problem with getting used to RHD is the tendency drift to the left in the lane. Other than that no problem so far. The ride is very smooth. There are polyethlene spacers between the leaf springs so they work very freely. The seating position seems a bit cramped for me -- if I can't get used to it will move seat back.
Need a 24v to 12v converter for a radio and CB next. Will keep you posted on further driving impressions.
I know -- pics -- pics, but too dark - I tried

Yeah man! You're gonna love that thing. It'll be sooo much more useable than the pinz. Congrats! Can't wait to see it!

Slim,
If full-size trucks come then we go on a full-size run. If stock trucks come then we go on a "stocker" run. We always decide the run based on the trucks present.
Come on out---it's a great time and a good bunch to wheel with!

Thanks for the heads up on the Sidewinder run. The truck is going back to ATEB for ARB lockers install next week (2-day job)- may or maynot be ready for Sunday. Compressor and switches, air lines - big job. As well other stuff needs to be done. Probabaly have to leave it there 3-4 days. Will let you know
